Max holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Arts Leadership/Administration from the University of Southern California, conferred in 2023. She actively engages in research as part of her master’s program, using a cross-disciplinary approach to study various performance genres within East Asian cultures, including theatre, film, music, dance, and visual arts. Her research methods include case studies, questionnaires, environmental scanning, ethnography, and attending relevant events, aiming to thoroughly explore the social and cultural dimensions of feminist and queer issues. Max’s work focuses on unveiling the strategies East Asian performers use to challenge traditional gender roles and advocate for social equity and acceptance. Max is currently pursuing another Master of Arts (MA) degree in Cinema and Media Studies at USC's School of Cinematic Arts.

Max's artistic interests are centered on exploring emotional and narrative themes, drawing inspiration from the complexities and contradictions inherent in queer culture. Her artistic vision seeks to provide an alternative perspective to indifference and bias, embodying a spirit of rebellion that is both timely and timeless.
